I just want a normal afternoon

A ray of sunlight slices through the windows of a messed-up dorm, inhabited by breathing mass under a blanket.A book fallen on the ground reads, in terrible writing might I add, ”Property of NOT YOU FOR SURE”.

Clearly, we have entered the room of a mature adult.BAM BAM BAMThe old and weary door gets subjected to the brutal treatment of a hyperactive 20-year-old.

The so-called adult is eager to kick the lazy afternoon into high gear, “Yo, bro what you doing?”The sleepy lump emerges to reveal Chir, or in simpler words, a mentally old sack of potatoes. Chir slowly replies “hrmfrgrfrgfwaitffe yawn”,what an intellectual response, go get em tiger.

She then scrambles, woah- uh- careful there, she opens the door and finds herself face to face with an orange cat. A fat one if I may add.

...

Meanwhile in the same building, a lizard creeps forward silently and slowly, careful to not let its prey escape. It blinks and lunges. A mosquito now in its mouth as the lizard- (gasp) a boot stomps the lizard like divine intervention!?

Alright the writers need to take a chill pill.

The owner of the boot, the warden, smirks before stopping cold. Silent like a shadow, her hunter ears picked up the sounds of hissing and yelling from two floors above. The warden glides above to bestow her wrath.

...

Coming back to the now sort of awake adult, the orange cat, with its most adorable round eyes, launched itself towards the curtain, tearing it down. It's always the ginger one isn't it? The one that always acts like a heavily drugged criminal whose recently escaped from the psychiatry ward.

“Well, that wasn’t what I expected” said the not so eager flatmate, smiling regretfully.

Really? that’s the best you got? Man, this is just lazy writing now.

“Yeah, no sh*t sherlock. Gone is my privacy and did you even think about the warden?! ”.

All the colour drained from the harbinger of doom’s face. Turns out she didn’t think of the consequences of the warden, retired highly trained hunter whose nose can smell out an ant and who’s ears are as sharp as a....uh, sharp object.

Ever since she got her right arm chomped off by a wild chihuahua, she has had a strong hatred towards animals. Honestly, don’t know whether I’m in awe or fear by this warden.

...

So, lets genuinely talk about the weather.

A cloud covered the sun and a darkness fell in the poorly lit room. An essence of malice was felt in the pg and beyond. Birds stopped chirping and babies started crying.

In a flash of quick thinking, Chir locked the door. Survival instinct kicked in.

A few silent moments passed before the malice cleared.

The warden jumps onto the balcony from the roof and broke through the window! She whips out a knife and stabs the fallen curtain full of cat hair. But she stabbed nothing but stationary.

This opportunity was taken by the cat that jumped on the wardens unsuspecting neck and bit through her artery!

“I will be avenged, foolish cat” said warden’s raspy voice.

As the warden lay dying, the cat took out a list of names and crossed out one of them. It looked back with power in its eyes and with a meowgniificient voice,“Arrivederci”. Then it vanished. A true legend.

The TV

In my 2nd year of college, my parents had decided to replace our TV. It was 20 years old, almost as old as me. A small maroon rectangle,...

Machine

There was a Wall. Dead-end. The whirring sounds are getting louder and closer. She feels sweat trickle down her back. The wall is too high.
